Proper nouns name specific places, people, and objects.
Proper nouns and words derived from them are always capitalized: deity, religions, religious
followers, sacred books; words of family relationships used as names; nationalities and
their languages, races, tribes; educational institutions, departments, degrees,
particular courses; government departments, organizations, political parties; historical
movements, periods, events, documents; specific electronic sources; and trade names.
Proper nouns are always capitalized
Academic subjects are capitalized only if they are the
names of languages: math, anthropology, German, Latin. Specific course
names are capitalized: Biology 4a, Match 34B.
Holidays, months, and days of the week, and seasons are capitalized. Be careful not to capitalize common nouns
to make them seem important: XYZ, Inc. is hiring a sr. product manager. [not XYZ, Inc. is hiring a
Sr. Product Manager].
